Washington: Young Girl Injured by Chemical Pressure IED
TRIPwire, 30 July 2018,
On 28 July 2018 at approximately 1940 hours local time, a 13-year-old sustained injuries to her hands and arm, when a bottle she picked up from a road in Vancouver explosively ruptured. Media sources reported that someone driving an SUV down the street tossed a small plastic bottle on the ground and the victim picked the bottle up to throw it away in the trash. The 13-year-old’s mother stated that the bottle was filled with a clear liquid and white smoke, and that she thought it was “a dry ice bomb.” Officers from the Vancouver Police Department are investigating the improvised explosive device (IED) incident.
