West Virginia: Investigation Results in IEDs and Associated Components

On 18 June 2018, law enforcement officers from the West Virginia State Police (WVSP) and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) found destructive devices and associated components inside an Elkins home. WVSP and ATF agents searched the suspect’s residence on the suspicion that he possessed bomb-making materials and associated components, and found two destructive devices and additional components. Authorities charged the suspect with “making an unlawful firearm” and “possession of an unregistered firearm.” WSVP and ATF agents are investigating.
