On 27 September 2017 at approximately 0330 hours local time, Fort Smith Police Department (FSPD) officers responded to a report of shots fired at a mobile home park. Upon arriving, FSPD officers arrested one suspect and discovered several items, including a firearm and a suspected explosive device. Bomb technicians determined the device to be inert. The suspect faces several charges, which include possession of a firearm and criminal use of prohibited weapons.
