On 28 September 2017 at approximately 1400 hours local time, Lake County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) deputies discovered an explosive device during a routine traffic stop near Lower Lake. An LCSO spokesperson stated that the Napa County Bomb Unit (NCBU) responded and destroyed the explosive device in place. No one was injured and there was no property damage resulting from the render safe procedures on the device. No further information pertaining to the device, nor suspects, was made available.
