On 20 September 2017, a 15-year-old girl detonated an improvised explosive device (IED) during a dispute between her mother and their neighbors in the village of Kerdasa. The device injured four neighbors and three pedestrians. The dispute was over a cat that intruded into the neighbor’s home. The girl claimed that she received the device from her uncle. The girl, her mother and sister were arrested by local authorities, as the investigation continues.
