TRIPwire, 21 September 2017, 0900
On 21 September 2017 at approximately 0335 hours local time, a device detonated at a vehicle dealership in Limassol. The device caused a fire, which damaged six electric motorbikes, several works of art and two small electric cars. Later that same day, shots were fired at a second dealership that also sold electric vehicles. After the second incident, local police cordoned off the area and collected evidence, including cartridges. These are the latest attacks on car dealerships in the area. On 18 September 2017, a similar arson style attack occurred at a separate dealership, which destroyed five cars and caused 100,000 euros worth of damage. An investigation is ongoing.
