TRIPwire, 20 September 2017, 0730
On 15 September 2017, police executed two search warrants after the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office (MCPO) received information about a weapons cache inside a Howell Township home. The first search warrant resulted in the seizure of weapons, ammunition and marijuana. The second search warrant, in Freehold Township, ended with the seizure of an improvised flamethrower and explosive materials. In addition, six rifles, ten handguns, thousands of rounds of ammunition, including hollow point and armor piercing rounds, were also discovered in the second search. Police arrested three men affiliated with the Pagan’s Motorcycle Club. Police suggested increasing tensions with a rival motorcycle gang as a possible motive. All three gang members face various firearms and explosives charges. The investigation is ongoing.
