Afghanistan: VBIED Kills 10, Injures 27
TRIPwire, 8 October 2019
On 7 October 2019, a vehicle-borne IED (VBIED) detonated as a vehicle full of Afghan security forces recruits drove by on a road in the eastern city of Jalalabad. The explosion killed at least 10 people, including some civilians, and wounded 27 others. Many of the wounded were in critical condition, and the death toll will likely rise. No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack, but both the Taliban and ISIS are very active in the area and frequently target security forces.
