Tennessee: 2 IEDs Found in Private Residence

On 11 December 2019, the sheriff and deputies from the Perry County Sheriff’s Office assisted Tennessee Probation and Parole officers with a search of a male parolee’s home and found two IEDs, methamphetamine, four firearms, and a large amount of ammunition. The IEDs were described as “cricket” devices, which are commonly made from CO2 cartridges, explosive material, and a fuse. The ATF responded to the incident and removed the explosives for further examination. The suspect was arrested on charges including possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of prohibited devices, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, and possession of drug paraphernalia. The investigation is ongoing.
