Kansas: 6 IEDs, Narcotics Discovered in Residence

On 18 June 2020 at approximately 0700 hours local time, officers from the Pittsburg Police Department conducting a search related to the possession and distribution of illegal drugs discovered items believed to be IEDs in the residence. The Kansas State Highway Patrol Hazardous Devices Unit responded to the scene. Hazardous Devices Unit technicians examined the devices, determine they were viable, and removed them from the area to be rendered safe. After the devices were removed, police discovered marijuana, cocaine, and drug paraphernalia. Police arrested a 41-year-old male suspect at the residence while executing the search warrant. On 25 June, police arrested two more male suspects, ages 24 and 34, who were determined to have direct involvement with the placement and use of the IEDs.
