On 11 July 2020, at approximately 0800 hours local time, officers from the Etowah County Drug Enforcement Unit and technicians from the Gadsden Police Department Bomb Squad responded to a residence where police discovered an apparent explosive device. The unspecified explosive device was rendered safe and removed from the scene. No further device details were provided. The suspects were charged with possession of a destructive device, and unlawful possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
