On 5 August 2020, at approximately 0500 hours local time, officers from the Minot Police Department (MPD) responded to a reported explosion outside a Minot residence and discovered an intact IED on the property. Technicians from the Minot Area Bomb Squad were called to the scene, examined the device, and rendered it safe. Device details were not provided. According to police, the incident appeared to be targeted. No injuries were reported, but the home sustained minor damage. The investigation is ongoing.
