France: ATM Attack Using Explosive Device Injures Dozens

On 28 August 2020, at approximately 0945 hours local time, a hooded male emplaced an unspecified explosive device on an ATM in a supermarket entryway in Mezieres-sur-Seine northwest of Paris. The explosive device functioned but did not breach the ATM safe. Approximately 30 people were injured, and the store sustained property damage. The Versailles Judicial Police and the national police force are searching for the suspect, who fled in a stolen vehicle before setting the vehicle on fire. The investigation is ongoing.
