TRIPwire, 22 October 2020

On 21 October 2020, at approximately 0911 hours local time, Wellfleet Fire Department (WFD) firefighters and Wellfleet Police Department officers responded after a caller reported an explosive device at a building in Wellfleet. WFD contacted technicians from the Massachusetts Police Bomb Squad Unit, who examined the device and determined it was viable military ordnance from World War II. Technicians removed the ordnance and rendered it safe at a nearby beach.
