Maine: IID Thrown at Apartment Building

On 13 January 2021, at approximately 2045 hours local time, Bangor Police Department (BPD) officers, Bangor Fire Department crews, and State Fire Marshal officials responded to an apartment building in Bangor after an unknown suspect threw an improvised incendiary device (IID) characterized as a possible Molotov cocktail. The building caught fire, but fire crews quickly extinguished the blaze and the apartment suffered only minor damage. No injuries were reported. Authorities, including FBI and ATF agents, are investigating whether the attack was connected to a tenant’s work at a family planning clinic.
