Maryland: IIDs Thrown at Convenience Store
TRIPwire, 19 January 2021
On 16 January 2021, at approximately 2213 hours local time, three suspects threw improvised incendiary devices (IIDs), described as Molotov cocktails, inside a Temple Hills convenience store and at external propane tanks. Two store employees were inside at the time and evacuated without injuries. Prince George’s County Fire Department (PGFD) personnel responded, and PGFD investigators estimated the fire caused $50,000 in property damages. Authorities are working to determine if the incident is connected to a 6 January IID attack that targeted the same chain of stores. Both investigations are ongoing.
