Tunisia: Police Attacked with Pyrotechnics, IIDs

On 18 January 2021, Tunisian police officers responded to protestors after hundreds of juveniles threw stones, pyrotechnics, and improvised incendiary devices (IIDs) described as Molotov cocktails at police in Tunis. No injuries were reported. According to the Tunisian Interior Ministry, more than 600 protestors have been arrested during four nights of riots linked to rising unemployment and COVID-19 lockdowns.
