On 29 March 2021, at approximately 2115 hours local time, Mesa County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) deputies responded to a Grand Junction apartment complex after a tenant reported two residents making a toxic substance using chemicals. The Grand Junction Fire Department’s (GJFD) Hazmat Team responded to assist, examined three bottles of undisclosed chemicals, and deemed the scene safe. A 33-year-old man and 44-year-old woman were arrested for possession, use, or removal of explosives or incendiary devices/possession of components. MCSO is continuing to investigate with assistance from Federal authorities.
