On 30 March 2021, at approximately 1852 hours local time, Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) officers and VBPD Special Operations Bomb Squad technicians discovered unspecified explosives at a Virginia Beach home after a witness reported the presence of possible explosives. FBI Special Agent Bomb Technicians and U.S. Navy Explosives Ordnance Disposal technicians responded to assist. Technicians removed the explosives from the home but did not provide additional information on the type or quantity. The investigation is ongoing.
