West Virginia: IID Thrown at Parked Vehicle, 1 Man Arrested

On 9 August 2021, at approximately 1230 hours local time, Kingwood Police Department (KPD) officers arrested a 32-year-old male suspect who threw an improvised incendiary device (IID), described as a Molotov cocktail, at a parked car on Sisler Street in Kingwood. On 7 August, KPD officers had received a criminal complaint from a homeowner stating that at 0314 hours local time their home security captured a passenger of the suspect’s vehicle throwing an IID out of the window, hitting the passenger side of the homeowner’s vehicle. The suspect's father verified that the suspect was the owner of the vehicle because he had sold it to him. The suspect has been charged with conspiracy to inflict injury to persons or property, fourth-degree arson, and criminal use of a destructive device, explosive material, or incendiary device.
