On 27 August 2021, at approximately 0900 hours local time, Topeka Police Department (TPD) officers responded to a residence for a report of a disturbance and possible IEDs at the home. The TPD Bomb Squad responded to assist and safely secured and recovered four IEDs. No additional device details were released. There were no reported injuries or damage to property. TPD officers arrested a 64-year-old male suspect on charges of criminal use of explosives. The ATF assisted in the investigation.
