New Mexico: IID Thrown at Gas Station, 1 Arrested

On 29 August 2021, Santa Fe Police Department officers responded to a local gas station where they discovered a trash can on fire believed to have been ignited by an improvised incendiary device (IID), described as a Molotov cocktail. A 47-year-old male suspect, who was seen pouring gasoline around the facility, was arrested and stated to authorities he was angry that the gas station “took his money.” The building received scorch marks from the blaze, as well as two broken windows. The suspect was charged with arson and criminal damage to property.
