Colombia: IEDs Used to Target Police Station, 3 Injured

On 18 May 2022, an unidentified group of armed men attacked the Norte de Santander Police Station in Tibú with an IED, described as a “tatuco-type explosive device,” which functioned after it was launched and landed on the roof of the station. No further device details have been released. The blast destroyed part of the building’s structure and seriously injured three police officers inside the building. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, and the investigation is ongoing.
