Washington: IEDs and BMM Found in Hotel Room, 1 Arrested

On 16 September 2022, at approximately 1630 hours local time, Aberdeen Police Department officers responded to a hotel on West Wishkah Street after receiving a call about a man who claimed that he had modified pyrotechnics into IEDs. Officers conducted a search of the hotel room and discovered IEDs and bomb-making material (BMM). No further device details have been released. Washington State Patrol Bomb Squad technicians responded to assist and removed the devices and BMM from the scene. A 51-year-old male suspect was arrested and charged with possession of incendiary devices.
