Italy: Explosives Used in Supermarket Attack

On 16 October 2022, at approximately 2300 hours local time, local police responded after four unidentified suspects used explosives to blow up the entrance of a room containing the cash registers at a supermarket in the Santa Viola area of Bologna and fled the scene with an estimated 100,000 euros [~ $98,588]. No further details on the explosives have been released. The explosion caused moderate damage to the supermarket, but no injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing.
