On 20 October 2022, at approximately 0200 hours local time, Devon and Cornwall Police responded to a supermarket in Launceston after two unidentified male suspects used explosives and rammed their vehicle into the ATM on the side of the building before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of cash. No further details about the explosives have been released, but authorities described them as causing a “small explosion.” The vehicle was later located in the Yeolmbridge area with false number plates. The incident remains under investigation.
