TRIPwire, 21 November 2022 On 20 November 2022, at approximately 0615 hours local time, Regina Police Service (RPS) officers conducted a traffic stop on King Street and discovered an improvised incendiary device (IID), described as a Molotov cocktail, in the side compartment of the front door. The RPS Explosive Disposal Unit was called to assist and dispose of the device. No further device details have been released. The vehicle was searched, where a .22 caliber sawed-off rifle was also discovered. A 24-year-old male suspect was charged with unlawful possession of explosives and possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace, among other firearm charges. The investigation is ongoing.
