Florida: 7 IIDs Thrown at Residence

TRIPwire, 21 November 2022 On 20 November 2022, at approximately 0811 hours local time, Polk County Sheriff's Office (PCSO) deputies responded to a residence in north Lakeland after a suspect threw seven improvised incendiary devices (IIDs), described as Molotov cocktails, at the residence, causing damage to the roof. No further device details have been released. The 30-year-old male suspect fled the scene in his vehicle which led to a pursuit that ended in Hillsborough County. The suspect exited his vehicle and attempted to run while carrying a fully loaded AR-15 rifle and a handgun before PCSO deputies opened fire, incapacitating him. The suspect was arrested and transported to a local hospital to be treated for gunshot wounds. He was charged with attempted first-degree murder, arson, firebombing, and resisting arrest.
