Germany: Explosives Used in ATM Attack

TRIPwire, 8 February 2023 On 7 February 2023, at approximately 0410 hours local time, three unknown suspects used explosives to attack a bank ATM in Rheurdt, before fleeing the scene. No further details about the explosives have been released. The explosion destroyed the ATM and caused extensive damage to the building, but no injuries were reported. It is unclear if any cash was stolen. The investigation is ongoing.
