Idaho: IID Discovered in Residence, 1 Arrested

TRIPwire, 17 March 2023 On 16 March 2023, at approximately 1300 hours local time, Caldwell Police Department officers responded to a Walnut Street residence after receiving a call that a family member set multiple items on fire at the home. When officers arrived, they discovered several “smoldering items” inside and outside the residence and a small improvised incendiary device (IID) in a bedroom. The Nampa Police Department Bomb Squad responded to the scene and rendered the device safe. No further device details have been released and no injuries were reported. A 32-year-old male suspect was arrested.
