On 23 June 2022, at approximately 0930 hours local time, a man began shooting at Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) deputies as they were serving a warrant at his mobile home in Fort Worth. A Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team responded to assist and attempted to negotiate with the suspect. During the standoff, the suspect dropped improvised incendiary devices (IIDs) on his front porch, starting a fire which quickly spread to the house and left one TCSO deputy injured from fragmentation. No further device details have been released. Tarrant County Fire Department crews extinguished the fire and found the suspect’s body inside the home.

On 19 June 2022, Orange County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a Wedgefield residence after unknown suspects detonated an explosive device in the mailbox. Surveillance footage captured a car driving off before the explosion.
