On 19 July 2021, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted nine simultaneous raids in five districts of Telangana and discovered grenade launchers, various “incriminating documents,” and bomb-making material (BMM) including sticks of slurry explosives, electric detonators, metal plates and pieces, iron pipes and circles/coins. The investigation is linked to an 18 May 2021 raid on four cadres of the Communist Party of India (CPI) in Bhadradri Kothagudem, which uncovered 400 electric detonators, 500 non-electric detonators, 400 explosive gelatin sticks, and 549 meters (1801 feet) of fuse. During those raids, the NIA arrested 8 people, including 4 members of the CPI, as they were attempting to transport these materials to the commander of a CPI battalion near Chhattisgarh. On 10 September 2021, at approximately 0355 hours local time, German police pursued three suspects fleeing to the Netherlands after they used explosives to rob an ATM located at a bank in Lünen-Süd near Dortmund in Germany, causing extensive damage. Dutch police took over the pursuit, found the escape vehicle in Venlo at 0530 hours local time, and arrested one of the three suspects, a 31-year-old male. Believing there were explosive devices still in the vehicle, authorities called in an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team to assist. EOD technicians examined the vehicle, discovered an explosive device, and rendered it safe by separating the detonator from the explosive material. The device was removed and taken to a separate location for disposal. German authorities discovered another explosive device during further investigation of the bank location where the robbery occurred. EOD technicians removed the device from the scene and disposed of it in a local field. No further information was provided on the explosive devices. The investigation is ongoing.

On 8 September 2021, at approximately 2230 hours local time, local authorities in Bickershaw, Wigan, England, responded after eyewitnesses saw an unidentified suspect throw an improvised incendiary device (IID), described as a Molotov cocktail, through the window of a parked van, setting it ablaze. The Hindley fire station responded to assist and quickly extinguished the fire. The driver and passenger seats were destroyed and there was heat and smoke damage to the tools and equipment in the rear of the van. The investigation is ongoing.
