On 6 January 2021, District Voluntary Force and Special Operations Group personnel seized two packets of undisclosed explosive material, detonators, fragmentation, batteries, backpacks, and two hand grenades during a joint counterinsurgency operation in Odisha’s Kandhamal district. No injuries or arrests were reported resulting from the raid. According to authorities, additional security operations are ongoing.

On 6 January 2021, at approximately 1645 hours local time, Lincoln Police Department (LPD) officers responded to a residence after receiving a call that a man was threatening someone with a hatchet. The officers found the suspect holding an unspecified incendiary device while standing in his home’s driveway. After a standoff that lasted until approximately 2045 hours, the suspect was taken into custody by LPD and SWAT teams. The Lincoln Fire Department and the Hazardous Device Unit responded to the scene and deployed a bomb robot to check the home. It is unclear whether the suspect made any bomb threats or if any devices or bomb-making materials were found. The investigation is ongoing.

On 9 December 2020, at approximately 1630 hours local time, Marnes Departmental Fire and Rescue Service (SDIS) firefighters responded to an enormous fire in a retail fireworks store in a Cormontreuil shopping center. A juvenile, who was part of a larger group, launched a pyrotechnic device, described as a rocket, igniting the other pyrotechnic devices in the store. The SDIS contained the fire so adjacent stores were not damaged, but the targeted store burned down and collapsed. One customer witnessed the juvenile remove the rocket from a shelf and launch it in the back of the store, and another witness heard the pyrotechnics function and saw the juveniles flee the scene. Two hundred people from the store and neighboring stores were evacuated, and no injuries were reported. The Reim’s Prosecutors Office is investigating the incident.

On 31 October 2020, at approximately 1455 hours local time, Aiken County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a Graniteville home after an IED described as a pipe bomb was thrown from a passing car and functioned in the front yard. A search of the area by investigators yielded a second, unexploded, pipe bomb. No injuries or damages were reported. The resident identified a 35-year-old male as driver of the car. According to authorities, the suspect likely targeted the resident due to a dispute. Deputies arrested the suspect, who faces attempted murder and possession of a weapon of mass destruction charges.
