The items were removed from the home, and the explosives were rendered safe in a secure location. The search stemmed from suspicious activity reported by a neighbor and focused on the suspect’s illegal manufacturing and selling of homemade explosive powders. ATF agents, the FBI, the Joint Hazard Incident Response Team, and the State Police Joint Terrorism Task Force assisted with the investigation. The suspect faces multiple charges, including the illegal possession, manufacture, and sale of explosive devices.

On 8 December 2020, at approximately 0300 and 0400 hours local time, Amsterdam Police officers responded to reported explosions at two Polish supermarkets in Heeswijk-Dinther and Aalsmeer, respectively, which set the facilities ablaze. Residents from apartments located above the supermarkets were evacuated, and no injuries were reported; however, both supermarkets suffered extensive damage. Amsterdam Police explosives experts examined the scenes for evidence of the causes of the explosions. Authorities have not stated whether the explosions are linked, as while both stores share the same name, the owner of the Aalsmeer supermarket stated that he had no association with the other supermarket. According to a spokeswoman from the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office, the device was lit but did not ignite a fire. No injuries or property damage were reported. On 31 December 2020, at approximately 1945 hours local time, Portland Police Bureau (PPB) officers responded after a group of protestors near the Federal Courthouse and Multnomah County Justice Center threw improvised incendiary devices (IIDs), described as Molotov cocktails, and other projectiles at law enforcement officers and launched commercial-grade aerial pyrotechnics at the courthouse. The PPB declared a riot shortly before midnight and deployed inert smoke and some impact munitions to disperse the crowd. Several local businesses were damaged during the unrest, and an unknown number of law enforcement officers were injured. Three people were arrested in connection with the events. On 17 May 2021, at approximately 0222 hours local time, an Austin Police Department officer found an improvised incendiary device (IID), described as a Molotov cocktail, along with several empty glass bottles after receiving a report of a man with several gasoline cans lined up along the street with a fire burning near them. The officer moved the gas cans to prevent the gasoline from igniting. No injuries or damages were reported. The 28-year-old suspect, who appeared to be under the influence of drugs, first claimed he was storing gas in the glass bottle because he had nowhere else to store it and the rag in the top of the bottle was for preventing spills, but later claimed to want to burn down his home and trailers. The suspect was arrested and charged with a felony as a violent felon in possession of an incendiary device.

On 18 October 2020, at approximately 0745 hours local time, deputies from the Butte County Sheriff’s Office and firefighters from the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection Butte Unit responded after receiving reports of a man throwing pyrotechnics, described as fireworks, from a moving vehicle in Table Mountain. Deputies discovered additional pyrotechnics, described as bottle rockets, and narcotics while searching the vehicle. Authorities arrested and charged the 36-year-old suspect for possessing dangerous fireworks, placing an explosive device in or about structures or land to start a fire, driving with a suspended license, and possessing narcotics.
