    On 19 October 2022, at approximately 0940 hours local time, local authorities responded to a prison for political detainees in Yangon after 2 IEDs functioned inside and outside the parcel reception office near the main gate, killing 3 prison workers and 5 visitors, and injuring 18 others. Authorities conducted a post-blast analysis of the scene and discovered a third device, described as a “homemade mine,” before rendering it safe. No further device details were provided. The Special Task Agency of Burma (STA) claimed responsibility for the attack.

Residents awoken by the explosion saw liquid still burning and immediately started extinguishing the blaze before fire crews arrived. No injuries were reported, but the explosion caused significant damage. Explosive experts responded to assist and conducted a post-blast analysis of the scene. No further device details were provided. On 6 October, an explosive device was functioned on the same street, injuring a teen. Authorities are unsure if there is any connection between the two incidents. The investigation is ongoing.

The Massachusetts State Police Bomb Squad responded to assist, deployed a robot to X-ray the item, and determined it was a pyrotechnic-type explosive device. No further device details have been released. Bomb squad technicians conducted render safe procedures and removed the device for further analysis. The incident remains under investigation.

    On 16 October 2022, at approximately 0130 hours local time, Windsor Police Service officers responded to a business on McGregor Boulevard after an improvised incendiary device (IID), described as a Molotov cocktail, was thrown through the front door, starting a fire. Fire crews extinguished the blaze and were able to find an IID containing a possible accelerant in a bag inside the doorway. No injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing.

According to eyewitnesses who were awakened by the explosion, the suspects used smoke bombs to escape local police chasing them. The investigation is ongoing.

No further device details have been released. According to authorities, a neighbor reported seeing the suspect enter the residence that was not his before calling police. Gadsden Bomb Squad technicians responded to assist. The 30-year-old suspect was arrested and charged with possession of a destructive device, burglary, and theft. The investigation is ongoing.
