Texas: Suspected IED Discovered in Vehicle

On 3 June 2019 at approximately 0100 hours local time, officers from Midland Police Department (MPD) responded to reports of a suspected IED inside a vehicle at a commercial parking lot. Upon arrival, MPD officers noticed a suspicious man in the parking lot and searched his vehicle, where they discovered the suspected IED. MPD Bomb Squad technicians removed the device for further examination. No injuries were reported, and the suspect was arrested. The investigation is ongoing.

Texas: EOD Unit Responds to Discovery of Ordnance at Private Residence

On 22 April 2019, a lawn crew discovered a possible live tank round while digging in the yard of a private residence. A Barksdale Air Force Base Explosive Ordnance Disposal team responded to the scene and removed the ordnance to a safe location for a controlled detonation.
