Maine: Explosive Devices Discovered During Home Search

On 19 November 2022, at approximately 1000 hours local time, Maine State Police (MSP) troopers executed a search warrant at a residence in Addison as part of a homicide investigation and discovered several explosive devices, described as “destructive devices”. No further device details have been released. Personnel with Maine Fire Marshal’s Office and technicians with the Bangor Police Department Bomb Squad and MSP Bomb Squad responded to assist and rendered the devices safe. The investigation is ongoing.

Michigan: Commercial Explosives Concealed in Salvaged Car Door

On 19 November 2022, Flint Police Department (FPD) officers responded after receiving a call from a Flint citizen who discovered commercial explosives described as “military-grade C-4 explosives” concealed inside a car door he had purchased from a salvage yard. FPD Bomb Squad technicians responded to assist and secured the explosives. The ATF is assisting in the ongoing investigation.

Thailand: VBIED Functioned Inside Police Compound, 1 Killed

On 22 November 2022, a vehicle-borne IED (VBIED) was functioned inside a police compound in Narathiwat Province, killing one police officer and injuring at least 29 others, including civilians. According to officials, an unidentified suspect dressed as a police officer parked the VBIED inside the compound prior to the explosion. No further device details have been released. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, and the investigation is ongoing.

Pennsylvania: Roadside IED Functioned, 2 Arrested

On 11 November 2022, at approximately 2159 hours local time, Ridley Township Police Department (RTPD) officers responded to Sellers Avenue in Ridley Park after a roadside IED was functioned. No further device details have been released, and no injuries were reported. Delaware County CID Detectives, ATF agents, and the Montgomery County Explosives Unit responded to assist. Authorities conducted a search of the area, and no secondary devices were discovered. On 17 November, RTPD announced the arrest of two suspects in connection with the explosion.
