Canada: IIDs Thrown at Police During Protest, 4 Arrested

On 29 September 2024, at approximately 2115 hours local time, at least 50 protestors gathered near Maisonneuve Boulevard and Guy Street in Montreal and began to march toward de la Montagne Street and along the campus of Concordia University. Protestors smashed windows of school buildings and nearby businesses and spray painted on several windows. As Montreal police were attempting to apprehend protestors, two improvised incendiary devices (IIDs), described as Molotov cocktails, were thrown at officers.
