Minnesota: IEDs Found in Car and Hotel Room, 1 Arrested

On 2 November 2024, Oak Park Heights Police Department conducted a traffic stop along Highway 36 in Stillwater and arrested the 46-year-old driver for various traffic violations. While the suspect’s vehicle was being towed, an inventory of the vehicle’s contents led to the discovery of IEDs. The St. Paul Bomb Squad was called to assist. The IEDs were described as nine small CO2 canisters with fuses attached to them by tape, and a PVC pipe with endcaps screwed in.
