Somalia: Roadside IED Kills 8

TRIPwire, 24 July 2019
On 23 July 2019, an IED emplaced along a road detonated as a public bus drove by in a small village near the town of Afgoye, just west of Mogadishu. Eight civilians died and at least three others sustained injuries. Police did not provide further information on the explosive device. No group claimed reasonability for the attack. Authorities say al-Shabaab is likely responsible, as the terror group has been targeting vehicles they suspect of carrying charcoal into Mogadishu.
