Thailand: RCIED Injures Three Security Volunteers

TRIPwire, 12 July 2019
On 12 July 2019 at approximately 0750 hours local time, a radio-controlled IED (RCIED) detonated on the side of a road in Muang district as four security volunteers drove by on motorcycles. Three of the volunteers sustained injures. Security officials say the RCIED was inside a metal box and weighed at least 3 kg (6.6 lb). Debris included a radio device, electrical wires, and a battery. No group claimed responsibility for the attack, but authorities blame southern insurgents active in the area.
