Sweden: Explosion Injures 25

On 7 June 2019 at approximately 0900 hours local time, an explosion occurred outside a residential building in Linkoping, injuring 25 people. Swedish public radio reported the windows and balconies of the residential building were destroyed and neighboring buildings were also damaged.

Illinois: IEDs Found in Vehicle After Road Rage Incident

On 4 June 2019, Genoa Police Department officers executed a search warrant on a suspect’s home in Genoa and removed two IEDs, weapons, and ammunition. The search warrant followed the 3 June discovery of a half stick of dynamite covered in nails and duct tape inside the glove compartment of the suspect’s vehicle when authorities responded to a road rage incident. No injuries were reported. The suspect was arrested and charged with three counts of unlawful use of weapons. The investigation is ongoing.

Texas: Suspected IED Discovered in Vehicle

On 3 June 2019 at approximately 0100 hours local time, officers from Midland Police Department (MPD) responded to reports of a suspected IED inside a vehicle at a commercial parking lot. Upon arrival, MPD officers noticed a suspicious man in the parking lot and searched his vehicle, where they discovered the suspected IED. MPD Bomb Squad technicians removed the device for further examination. No injuries were reported, and the suspect was arrested. The investigation is ongoing.
