On 10 September 2017, shortly after midnight, police discovered an undescribed explosive device at a nightclub in Corozal Town. Additional police and personnel from the Belize Defense Force (BDF) were called to the scene. BDF bomb squad technicians responded and safely removed the device to render it safe. An investigation is ongoing.
