Pakistan: Three Injured by Radio-Controlled IED

On 4 March 2019, an IED concealed in a motorcycle functioned near a bus terminal in Chaman, injuring three individuals and damaging nearby shops and buses. According to the police bomb disposal unit, the device contained about 5 kg (11 lbs) of explosives and was detonated with a radio-controlled device. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Greece: Turkish Consulate Attacked with IIDs

On 3 March 2019 at approximately 0240 hours local time, a group of at least 50 individuals threw rocks and improvised incendiary devices (IIDs) at Hellenic Police officers guarding the Turkish consulate in Thessaloniki. Police used tear gas and stun grenades to disperse the attackers, who fled the scene before any arrests could be made. No injuries were reported, and firefighters responded to extinguish several small fires ignited by the IIDs.

Ohio: Pipe Bomb Discovered in Yard

On 1 March 2019, a Sylvania Township resident discovered an IED along the side of a road. Sylvania Township Police responded, and the Northwest Ohio Bomb Squad (NOBS) rendered safe the device. According to the NOBS, the device was a PVC pipe filled with ball bearings, .22-caliber ammunition, and black powder, and it failed to detonate. The investigation into the emplacement of the device is ongoing.
North Dakota: IED Discovered on Burglar

On 28 February 2019, Fargo Police Department officers discovered an IED while arresting a 23-year-old male suspect for burglarizing laundry machines. The Red River Valley Bomb Squad rendered safe the device, which was described by news media as an explosive with a small fuse.
Michigan: Two Men Arrested with IED

On 1 March 2019 at approximately 1545 hours local time, White Pigeon Police Department officers discovered an IED in a vehicle during an unrelated traffic stop. The Michigan State Police Bomb Squad rendered safe the device. A 35-year-old male and 20-year-old male were arrested for possession and transportation of explosives, carrying a concealed weapon, and possession of methamphetamine. There was no further information on the device.
