On 18 July 2025 at approximately 1245 hours local time, Boise Police officer made a routine traffic stop and arrested the driver of the vehicle for driving under the influence. The passenger of the vehicle was arrested on outstanding warrant charges. The officers then discovered a suspected pipe bomb while searching the suspect’s vehicle. The Boise Police Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit responded and conducted remote diagnostics on the suspected pipe bomb and determined it was a viable device. A spokesperson for the department stated, "It was a viable explosive device.

On June 19, 2025, in Portland, OR, a 38-year-old man was arrested after police briefly closed Interstate 5 (I-5) on June 14, 2025, due to a “suspicious device,” according to the Portland Police Bureau (PPB). On I-5 at the Northeast Failing Street pedestrian bridge, the suspect reportedly threw construction cones, boards with nails sticking out, and other objects into traffic, and slashed the tires of vehicles when the drivers stopped. He also had a large stop sign on a portable stand. The suspect reportedly threatened drivers with a screwdriver and claimed he had a bomb.

On June 2, 2025, two men were arrested in Washington state with an arsenal that included dozens of guns, explosives and body armor, along with Nazi paraphernalia per investigators. The suspects were reportedly former military members who allegedly attacked a soldier with a hammer while stealing gear from Joint Base Lewis-McChord last weekend. The FBI executed a search warrant at a home shared by the defendants on Monday and arrested them. Authorities said agents seized about 35 firearms at the home, including short-barreled rifles and an MG42 machine gun.

On April 10, 2025, at approximately 1300 hours local time, a man was arrested in Vancouver, Washington, after police found an IED and a firearm in his backpack. Officers responded to the Bagley Downs neighborhood, where they located the suspect, who was wanted on multiple warrants.

On 2 January 2025, Airway Heights Police Department officers and Stevens County Sheriff’s Office deputies discovered an IED while searching a residence on the 13000 block of West 6th Avenue in Airway Heights during an identity theft investigation. Explosive Disposal Unit technicians from the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office and Spokane Police Department were called to remove the explosive device, described as a “2-foot-long pipe-shaped object with fuses sticking out of the top.” Authorities also discovered seven additional IEDs in the suspect’s vehicle.
