Greece: Cache of Explosives and Guns Found in Apartment Storage Room

On 19 November 2024, Greek anti-terrorism police and a bomb squad responded to an apartment building in the Pangrati district of Athens after the owner of the building reported finding a cache of explosives in a storage room. Greek authorities found 3 hand grenades, 7.5 kg [~16.5 pounds] of ammonium dynamite, 3 kg [~6.6 pounds] of gelatine dynamite, 2 kg [~4.4 pounds] of TNT, 37 kg [~81.6 pounds] of ammonium nitrate, 6 detonators, and 6 firearms in the storage room. No details regarding the disposal of the explosives were provided. The investigation is ongoing.
