Burkina Faso: IED Emplaced in Road Kills 15, Wounds 6

On 8 September 2019, a vehicle carrying civilians and commercial goods from a market functioned a roadside IED in the province of Centre-Nord in northern Burkina Faso. The explosion killed 15 passengers and wounded 6 others. No device details were provided. No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack, but local authorities say a jihadist group active in the area was likely involved.
