Kansas: Explosives and BMM Discovered at Residence

On 19 August 2019, Caney Police responded to a private residence after receiving a report of possible explosives presence. The ATF, Kansas Highway Patrol Bomb Squad, and the Montgomery County State Emergency Response Team assisted with the investigation. Authorities identified explosives and bomb-making materials in the home as well as illegal narcotics and drug paraphernalia. Police arrested a 47-year-old male suspect and a 28-year-old female suspect in connection with the incident.

Italy: Explosive Device Functions During Domestic Altercation

On 20 August 2019, a 20-year-old male suspect detonated an explosive device in front of his father’s residence following an argument in Terzigni near Naples. The explosion seriously damaged the front of the building as well as four vehicles parked outside the house and one car that was passing by. The driver of that vehicle sustained minor injuries. The suspect tried to flee the scene on his scooter, with an obscured license plate, but was stopped by the police.

Indonesia: IID’s Thrown at Political Party Headquarters

On 21 August 2019 at approximately 0305 hours local time, Jakarta Police officers responded to reports of people throwing improvised incendiary devices (IIDs) at the Golkar Party's headquarters. Witnesses say four masked suspects arrived on two motorcycles, then ignited and threw IIDs at the building. When bystanders attempted to intervene, one of the suspects threw an IID at them before the suspects fled the area. No one sustained injuries, and only one IID functioned starting a small fire.

Rhode Island: Explosive Devices Damage Portable Toilets

On 17 August 2019, a suspect emplaced explosive devices inside two portable toilets at construction sites in Westerly and Charlestown. Both incidents occurred on private property, and the portable toilets were owned by the same company. No injuries were reported. The State Fire Marshal, local police, and ATF are investigating the incidents.
