Sweden: Explosion Damages Vehicle and Building

On 20 September 2019 at approximately 0430 hours local time, a parked vehicle exploded in Lund. No injuries were reported, but the property where the vehicle was parked sustained damages. The national bomb squad was brought in to secure the scene for police investigators. The cause of the explosion is still unknown. Police are exploring a possible link to a 14 September explosion that injured one woman in the Lund town center. The investigation is ongoing.

New Hampshire: Chemical Pressure Device Discovered Near Courthouse

On 17 September 2019 at approximately 1430 hours local time, the Laconia Police Department and New Hampshire State Police Explosives Disposal Unit responded to reports of a suspicious device in a parking lot by a courthouse. Police initially suspected the bottle was drug paraphernalia, but the Explosives Disposal Unit determined it was a chemical pressure device. The Explosives Disposal Unit removed the device and rendered it safe with a controlled detonation at a different location.
