On 26 February 2019 at approximately 1630 hours local time, an IED was discovered under a vehicle in a residential area of Edmonton. Edmonton Police Service (EPS) officers responded, and the EPS Explosive Disposal Unit rendered safe the device. According to media images of the device, it appears to be a pipe bomb with a protruding fuse. The investigation into the emplacement and construction of the device is ongoing.

On 26 February 2019, Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) officers discovered an IED, weapons, and drugs during a conditions check on a 17-year-old male suspect already on probation for possessing a pipe bomb in Swift Current. The RCMP Explosive Disposal Unit rendered safe the device. The suspect was arrested and charged with failing to comply with a sentence, possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose, making explosives, and possession of crystal meth. There was no further information on the device.

On 26 February 2019, Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) deputies responded to reports of an IED discovered inside a vacant apartment in Webster. The HCSO Bomb Unit rendered safe the device. There is no further information on the device emplacement or construction.

On 24 February 2019, an IED conceald on a motorcycle outside of a shop in Dera Murad Jamali’s Mazdoor Chowk area of Pakistan detonated. One person died instantly, and between 9 and 14 others were reported wounded in the blast. Rescue and security forces quickly cordoned off the area after the explosion and began investigation into the cause and perpetrators of the explosion.

On 24 February 2019, Armed Border Force (SSB) officers and Dumka district police seized an explosives cache during a security operation against Maoist guerrillas in the eastern state of Jharkhand. According to an SSB spokesperson, the cache contained 17 IEDs, which weighed 5 to 10 kg (11 to 22 lbs) apiece and were reportedly viable at the time of their seizure. Also seized were 200 electric detonators, 1 hand grenade, detonating cord, and other unspecified explosives.
