TRIPwire, 5 April 2019
On 4 April 2019 at approximately 1140 hours local time, Slate Belt Regional Police (SBRP) officers responded to reports of an IED at a private residence in Plainfield Township. The device was discovered by the deceased owner’s relatives while cleaning out the home. Upon examination by SBRP, the Bethlehem Bomb Squad was dispatched to render safe the device. A subsequent search of the home did not yield any other devices. No injuries were reported and no charges will be filed since the resident is deceased.

Maryland: Pipe Bomb Safely Detonated Near Lake Linganore

On 24 March 2019 at approximately 1600 hours local time, the Maryland State Fire Marshals (MSFM), Maryland State Police Bomb Squad (MSPBS), and United Fire Company’s ATV unit responded to reports of a suspicious package found near Lake Linganore. The suspicious package was described as a pipe bomb. The MSFM and MSPBS rendered safe the device with no reported injuries. There is no further information on the device but the investigation is ongoing.
